City Development Limited or CDL adopted the Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction or PPVC technology constructing a large-scale residential project. CDL was the very first to adopt such technology for constructing in the Asian Region.
PPVC involves hoisting prefabricated building modules into a specific position. These modules are then put together as if building a Lego. The method promises efficiency since it requires lesser workers on the site. This means better safety for workers as they do not have to be in the construction site to develop The Brownstone Canberra EC.
In its latest work, CDL used more than 3,000 modules to build its Executive Condo located in Canberra Drive in Sembawang area. It is made up of 10 to 12 –storey building blocks with 636 units.

China State Construction has been awarded the construction of Canberra MRT Station. China State is an established construction company and is the currently developing the Geylang Bahru and Kaki Bukit stations of Downtown Line 3.
As announced by the Land Transport Authority (LTA), the construction kicked off on the 27th of April and should be finished in 2019. Canberra MRT Station is being developed between Sembawang and Yishun MRT stations. Moreover, this station follows the Dover Station as the only station built on an existing rail line.
Through its completion and opening, commuters and residents of the surrounding properties will have more convenience in travelling. These commuters will include the residents of CDL’s The Brownstone Canberra Executive Condominium (EC). The best news to this is that commuters can save 10 minutes of travel time if they are going to Jurong East and the center of the city.
With this new Canberra MRT, aside from providing travel convenience, more housing developments are more likely to achieve better capital potential growth & rental yield in the future. Pricing will overall increase with possible higher rental yield.
